Blushing Bride Blossom

Blushing Bride Blossom

I love the  grey satin ribbon teamed up with the yummy colors of the Twitterpated DSP papers.  I've been working on my bow-making skills and find that it is a work in progress and that my results vary greatly depending on the ribbon I work with.  This double bow is tied with linen thread and capped off with a Blushing Bride button from the Twitterpated Designer Buttons collection, #125579 in the Mini Occasions Catalog.

You'll be surprised - but I used 5 punches to create this simple card!  Yes ma'am --- 5.  Here's a photo of two of the punches I used:

The Power of Punches
The main embellishment is a flower, created by stamping a blossom from the Mixed Bunch stamp set, #125535-wood or #125537-clear, using Blushing Bride ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  The center of the flower is created using the 1" flower center, inked with my Island Indigo Stampin' Write marker, then punched with the 1" Circle Punch, #119868.  I added a solid circle of Blushing Bride using the 1-3/8" Circle Punch, #119860 as a mat.  The Blushing Bride petals behind the stamped blossom were created using the Modern Label Punch, #119849.  I punched 3 labels, cut them in half and worked each "blossom" with my bone folder, then attached them in between the stamped blossom petals.  I added a Basic Pearl to the center of the flower, which is popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals, #104430.

To create the tiny and delicate scallop edge along the center embossed strip of Blushing Bride cardstock, I used  the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, then split that down the middle (cutting length wise between the 2 rows of tiny dots).  I added my Snail adhesive to the back of the embossed paper, then placed the scallop edges --- they were so narrow, I couldn't put the adhesive directly on them.

I will add a sentiment banner when I'm ready to use the card, but for now, I really like using up some of my Twitterpated scraps.

Mixed Bunch Get Well - a square card

This is the 4th card in my upcoming Mixed Bunch Card Workshop.  This card is square - measuring 5-1/4 x 5-1/4.  You're going to love the creations you'll learn to make using the new Blossom punch in the Occasions Mini catalog.  This card class will include 5 cards which are inspired by the awesome work of Sandi MacIver.  I've tweaked each card just a bit to fit my own personal color choices, but her cards catch my eye every day.  Thanks for the wonderful inspiration, Sandi!

Mixed Bunch Bonus Card - friend to friend

This card has so much dimension.  Love the textured mat of Pool Party on the Pool Party base.  The striped purple flower is created using two (2) punched blossoms.  I made 1 cut, then began folding each blossom petal like a fan, then attached the 2 folded blossoms using mini glue does.  I placed a Pool Party blossom punch behind the purple flower, then added a purple shadow by cutting each of the purple shadow petals and attaching them individually behind the Pool Party base.  The button is dressed with White Baker's Twine and popped in place with a mini glue dot.

The Pear Pizzazz banner was punched using a square punch to get the perfect points.

and a closer look at the folded flower.  My colors got a little distorted zooming in so close.  The picture above is accurate.

The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Mixed Bunch #3 - Thank you

Card #3 is so sweet!   The area behind the blossom is punched out so the Pool Party card stock peeps out from behind the blossom.  The little floral buttons are attached with mini glue dots and topped with a Basic Pearl.  Super quick and easy.

A close-up of the area around the blossom:

MIXED BUNCH - Happy Birthday

Here's a Happy Birthday card you can create in 10 minutes or less!  Love the rich color of Concorde Crush against Pool Party.  This is card #2 in the Mixed Bunch Card Class.

The thin mat in Basic Black seems to make the Concorde Crush DSP seem so deep and rich.  I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to help place the sentiment just where I wanted it.

The close-up shows better detail of the pretty little pearls in the center of the blossom:

Good Morning!  I have been busy creating new cards using the beautiful stamp set "Mixed Bunch" and "Perfectly Penned" and I think you'll want to clear your calendar so you can attend the upcoming class for these beauties.

Here is Card #1:

All the cards we will create in this card class are 10 Minutes or Less to create!

Here is a close-up of the pretty butterfly:

I used the new Blossom punch and trimmed one petal off to create the butterfly.  A little magic with the bone folder and I was ready to add the line of tiny pearls.  Easy Peazy!

I've got to get ready for another killer day of work, but I'll add more details and share a bonus card that will be part of this class tonight.  I hope you have a great day.

Everyday Enchantment Blossom

Today's creation features lots of embossing.  This card was inspired by a recent submission I admired on Splitcoast Stampers and will be the feature card for my upcoming Big Shot Workshop.

The dotted mat on the card base and the Soft Suede label are embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder (#119976) ;  the Poppy Parade strip on the banner is embossed with the very pretty Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.  Last but not least, the crisp Pool Party flower is punched with the Blossom Punch (#125603 - Mini Occasions Catalog) then embossed with Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (#117335).  I love the little pearls that accent the center of the flower (#119247).  The tiny sentiment tags were created using Tiny Tags (W-118091, C-118592) and punched with the Jewelry Tag Punch (#117190).  I used Poppy Parade ink and Pool Party 1/2" Seam Binding ribbon.  This was a very fast card to cut and assemble.  The labels were cut using the Labels Collection  Framelits  Dies (#125598).
