MIXED BUNCH - Happy Birthday

Here's a Happy Birthday card you can create in 10 minutes or less!  Love the rich color of Concorde Crush against Pool Party.  This is card #2 in the Mixed Bunch Card Class.

The thin mat in Basic Black seems to make the Concorde Crush DSP seem so deep and rich.  I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to help place the sentiment just where I wanted it.

The close-up shows better detail of the pretty little pearls in the center of the blossom:

What I used:

Cardstock:  Pool Party, Basic Black, Whisper White & Concorde Crush DSP (2010-2012 In Color Collection)
Stamps:  Mixed Bunch (#125535-W, #125537-C)  and Perfectly Penned (#122890-W, #122892-C)
Inks:  Pool Party, Concorde Crush; Stazon Black
Accessories:  Elegant Bouquet embossing folder (#115964), Blossom Punch (#125603), Stamp-a-ma-jig (#101049), bone folder (#102300) , Basic Pearls (#119247), 1/4" Basic Black Grosgrain ribbon (#109027)

Good Morning!  I have been busy creating new cards using the beautiful stamp set "Mixed Bunch" and "Perfectly Penned" and I think you'll want to clear your calendar so you can attend the upcoming class for these beauties.

Here is Card #1:

All the cards we will create in this card class are 10 Minutes or Less to create!

Here is a close-up of the pretty butterfly:

I used the new Blossom punch and trimmed one petal off to create the butterfly.  A little magic with the bone folder and I was ready to add the line of tiny pearls.  Easy Peazy!

I've got to get ready for another killer day of work, but I'll add more details and share a bonus card that will be part of this class tonight.  I hope you have a great day.

In Colors Happy Birthday

Good morning and Happy Hump Day.  I love Wednesdays because I always look forward to choir practice at church and seeing my church family.  It's my weekend mid-week B-12.  Another thing that lifts my spirits and makes me smile is playing with my scrapping and stampin' stuff.  I put together 4 new sets of stamps last night, so I'll be inking up some new stamps tonight.

Today's card gives you a hint that my heart is ready for spring!  The colors are In Colors:  Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade and Whisper White.  Lots of snippets of various techniques - paper piercing, embossing, torn paper and crimping.

Good Morning, Monday!  My weekend was wonderful and Saturday was a very productive day, prepare class examples for 2 upcoming workshops.  I have a series of 4 cards all using Sale-a-Bration products that is going to be so much fun.  Here is Card #4 - I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it.

and a close-up of the bow.  Actually this is a faux bow, tied with a small button from the Twitterpated button collection (Occasions Mini #125579, Pg. 12).  I threaded the button with about 8 inches of the Calypso Coral organdy ribbon that is part of one of the FREE products you can select to receive with every $50 you purchase during SALE-A-BRATION.  Love, Love, Love working with this ribbon and just look - you can curl it just like you do the curly ribbon for wrapping gifts.  How fun is that!

I am working to add tabs across the top of my Blog and one of the tabs will be my Calendar.  The Sale-A-Bration Everyday Enchantment Card Class is scheduled for Tuesday, March 6, 2012 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.  Class fee is $15.00.  Register early so I can send you a supply list for this fast and fun workshop.  You'll learn how to make this cute faux bow, create distressed flowers and learn to work with embossing folders.

Call:  432-770-1426 or
E-mail me:  kperry57@yahoo.com

If this date just will not work for you but you love the cards and don't want to miss out on the techniques, let me know.  I have written instructions for each of the cards and will prepare packets with supplies for each of the four cards.  This is going to be a fun filled workshop.

Heaven Blessed Egg Hunt

This sweet and softly colored card is hand colored using the aqua painter technique I learned from Joan Robertson.  This is my favorite method of coloring my images.  I am amazed every time I work on a watercolor element at how such a small amount of ink on my brush can bring something so tiny as these Easter eggs to life!

I am looking forward to the warmer days of Spring and pray that West Texas can receive some very much needed rain to fill our water supplies.  The thought of not being allowed to water my yard but 2 hours per week only (Tuesdays for my address), all by hand, spells the certain doom of my St. Augustine grass.  I've lived in West Texas since the early 60's and have never been subject to such stringent water restrictions.  The feel of soft carpet grass on your bare feet is like walking on a cloud.  Let's keep our fingers crossed that we can all be conservative with our water use and that we'll be blessed with lots of spring showers.

What I used:
Cardstock:  Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Pool Party, Whisper White & water color paper
Inks:  Stazon Black & Old Olive; Variety of Markers
Stamps:  Heaven Blessed (#125862-W, #125864-C) and Delightful Dozen (#122650-W & #122652-C)
Accessories:  Pear Pizzazz seam binding ribbon; Eyelet Border Punch

Hello Doily Thanks

For those of you who have known me for a long time, you know how close I was to both of my grandmothers and how much I cherish the beautiful hand work they created and shared with me.  I know that influenced my first attraction to Hello Doily ... I have a beautiful dining room sized pineapple doily from Grandma Polly.  It is truly an heirloom and so are the many wonderful friends who have continued to bless my life.  Take a moment today during a quiet moment to say Thanks for the many blessings in your life.

Enjoy your Friday and take time to do something creative today.

Things I used:

Cardstock:  Sahara Sand base, Whisper White, Night of Navy, Real Red, Melon Mambo, Garden Green
Inks:  Versamark, Pacific Point & Night of Navy
Stamps:  Hello, Doily (#122845), Four Frames (W-123440, C-123442) & Kindness Matters (W-122900, C-122902)

Everyday Enchantment Blossom

Today's creation features lots of embossing.  This card was inspired by a recent submission I admired on Splitcoast Stampers and will be the feature card for my upcoming Big Shot Workshop.

The dotted mat on the card base and the Soft Suede label are embossed with the Square Lattice embossing folder (#119976) ;  the Poppy Parade strip on the banner is embossed with the very pretty Elegant Bouquet embossing folder.  Last but not least, the crisp Pool Party flower is punched with the Blossom Punch (#125603 - Mini Occasions Catalog) then embossed with Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder (#117335).  I love the little pearls that accent the center of the flower (#119247).  The tiny sentiment tags were created using Tiny Tags (W-118091, C-118592) and punched with the Jewelry Tag Punch (#117190).  I used Poppy Parade ink and Pool Party 1/2" Seam Binding ribbon.  This was a very fast card to cut and assemble.  The labels were cut using the Labels Collection  Framelits  Dies (#125598).

Sale-a-Bration continues through March 31st.  Call me to schedule a time to host a Sale-a-Bration event and for every $50 you spend, you earn free products.  Better yet - join my Stampin' Up Team for only $125 and you will receive a free paper pack or digital download every month for the rest of 2012!  The Starter Kit is loaded with products that you pick and personalize and is valued at over $345!  Call me for more details.

Be My Valentine...

Thanks for stopping by.  I recently watched a YouTube tutorial video to help you get more uses from your border punches.  The pretty eyelet lace layer of Whisper White CS was created from a 1-1/2" strip.  I was very careful to place my first punch on each side in the same position, always starting with my punch upside down, so I could tell exactly where the edge of my paper was.  I'll create more double sided trims using border punches and photograph the process for Tuesday's Technique, so make sure you check back.  My friends at Saturday's Valentine workshop were so excited with their eyelet trim, we incorporated it underneath our pretty ribbon.  I think it made the perfect accent to our card!

And what is Valentine's without a few sweet treats!  The make 'n take project included this 4x6 cellophane bag filled with goodies.  The topper is created by using the Apothecary Framelits.  I measured the width of the bag top & then measured the middle of the Apothecary framelit (the heigth of the framelit) to determine which one of the nesting framelits I needed to use.  The black "shadow" of the framelit topper is cut from the exact same framelit, just split and adhered with snail to create the shadow I wanted.
